Zimbabwean players who have been at the receiving end of some battering from other teams in their variousleague  in Europe's top nations have suddenly found the form that has seen them rise on log standings. Below is how every Zimbabwean player in Europeand South Africa performed, in terms of team performances.

Vusa Nyoni has been raising the Zimbabwean flag quite high in Belgium, a modest topflight soccer league in Europe, but very competitive with popular teams such as Anderletch, Standard Liege, Cercle Brugge and Germinal Beerschot.  Nyoni plays for Beerschot and has  probablybeen their most consistent player through out the season which has just ended, paving way for the Championship League involving the top 6 teams. Unfortunately, Beerschot finished tenth, a mid-table position and will not take part in the Championship lap.

Nyoni has nonetheless distinguished himself in this league, putting on some superb performances for Beerschot. There is a chance that top teams like Anderletch might come knocking for his signature. At Beerschot Nyoni plays mostly as an attacking left-sided midfielder, but has such versatility that he could be employed as a left back, a central midfielder or even as a right back if push gets to shove.

Two players play for topflight teams in Cyprus; Noel Kaseke, an attacking midfielder or sometimes a defensive midfielder for defending champions Omonia Nicosia. There is a Zimbabwean player who has been on song for his club Ethnikos Achna, Edward Masinwa (sometimes pronounced as Mashinya).

The player scored two goals for Ethnikos last week, and has strated to see more game time as the season draws to a close in Europe. Masinwa made headlines by banging in loads of goals in the lower division, attracting the attention of Ethnikos.

Given a chance to settle in the Cypriot topflight, Eddie could contribute to the contribution to Zimbabwe's search for Knowledge Musona'sstrike-partner in the Warriors set up.  This weekend, Masinwa and his team were unlucky to lose 0-1 at home to  new log leaders AEL, who have now replaced Kaseke's Omonia at the top. Masinwa played for 54 minutes before Brazilian Serjao replaced him. Kaseke played for the entire 90 minutes for Omonia who drew 0-0 away at UEFA Champions League surprise packet and quarter-finalists APOEL.

Warriors striker/midfielder Quincy Antipas helped his club SonderjyskE to their first win after the January break resumption when he scored first in a 2-1 win over AaB in a league match played on Saturday. Antipas scored in the 33rd minute, and was substituted in the 67th minute.

Onismor Bhasera played in his club Plymouth Argyle 1-1 draw in League One. Bhasera has been subsituted in the past three weeks, and it is rumoured that the players has been carrying an injury from the Burundi match. The rumours are yet to be confirmed by the player or his club.

In League One, Bradley Pritchard's log leading team Charlton Athletics remain top of the log despite a serious deep in form. On Saturday, the former Premiership side were beaten 0-1 by Huddersfield Town away, but still lead the 2nd team on the log,Sheffield Wednesday, by 8 points, with seven matches remaining. Pritchard was a second half substitute at Huddersfield Town.

Ovidy Karuru's US Bolougne of Ligue 2 managed to win 2-0 at home against  Le Mans.Karuru has been playing entire 90 minutes in the past five matches. He also lasted the entire match on Friday night.

Knowledge Musona was conspicuous by his absence from the TSG Hoffenheim squad that surprised Borusssquad of ia M'gladbach 2-1 away from home to register their first win in many matches. It is not  yet clear why Zimbabwe Warriors' topstriker has been on and off the squad of the match days lately at Hoffeheim.

Two players (Dickson Choto of Legia Warsaw and Zaglebie Lubin's Costa Nhamoinesu) have been squad members and have been featuring on the match day sqauds of their respective teams. It is Nhamoinesu who has been a consistent performer for his club and has been seeing more game time than Choto who has endured spells on the bench ever since he recovered from an injury sustained in August last year.

Nhamoinesu has been instrumental in Zaglebie Lubin's rise from the foot of the table to relegation safety. He even scored  when his club beat Widzew ŁódŸ last week. This past weekend Nhamoinesu was outstanding in Zaglebie's 2-1 win over Łódzki KS away from home. This is one of the players who deserve a place in Rahman Gumbo's squad for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers and the AFCON 2013 return leg against Burundi.

Mike Temwanjira has been a consistent performer in Romania, and despite not featuring prominently on the scoring charts, he has been instrumental to his club FC Vaslui's rise to 3rd on the log. Temwanjira wasa 2nd half substitute in place of Nigerian Yello in Vaslui's surprise 1-0 win away at Dinamo Bucuresti (Bucharest). Vaslui currently occupy an automatic Europa League competition spot, and with 42 points after 23 matches, Vaslui are a mere 5 points away from the logleaders CFR Cluj.

At Vaslui,Temwanjira is not employed to score goals mainly. His ability to play as target man who puts pressure on the defence and creates opportunities for the likes of the Brazilian star Wesley, is the value he brings to the high riding FC Vaslui. Within the Warriors set up, Mbozha can play that role when playing alongside smaller attack-minded players with an eye for goal like Musona and Khama Billiat.

South Africa

Nyasha Mushekwi scored a brace for Mamelodi Sundowns who beat Bidvest Wits 2-0 in a Nedbank Cup last 16 round match at Bidvest Stadium on Sunday. Method Mwanjale was captain of the team in the absence of Teko Modise.Veteran midfielderand former team captain Esrom Nyandoro also played the entire match for 'Downs.

In another Nedbank last 16 round, Amazulu beat Witbank Spurs 1-0. Usuthu are home to three Zimbabwean players, captain Tapuwa Kapini, steely defender Carlngton Nyadombo and midfielder Ramson Zhuwawo. The Amazulu coach decided to rest some of his key players like Nyadombo to give others a chance. Kapini played, and so did Zhuwawo, who appears to have lost his place in the starting eleven in the league.

During midweek, Kaizer Chiefs easily beat Bloemfontein Celtic 2-0 in a mid-week ABSA Premiership league match. Chiefs featured three Zimbabwe Warriors players, Lincoln Zvasiya in the heart of defence, Zhainu 'Jimmy' Jambo on left back, while Willard Katsande did a lot mopping in midfield, a role which he plays in the absence of midfield general Tinashe Nengomasha.
