Monoz surprise Dynamos, Shabanie, Bosso march on

No celebrations for Dynamos fans after Monoz surprised their team1-0 at Rufaro on Sunday
The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League in Zimbabwe has  started on an extremely exciting note, with weekend results showing that there is no team that is immune from defeat in the league. Monomotapa and Shabanie FC are the unlikely top teams on the log after beating Dynamos and Blue Rangers respectively.

Monoz caused the biggest upset thus far  in the season, after the former champions defeated defending champions  DeMbare 1-0 at Rufaro Stadium, wih Tendai Nyamandwe scoring a late goal to steal victory for the former champions.

The two teams had wasted numerous scoring chances, and both had goals disallowed  by the referee. Nyamandwe scored in the first half but the goal was disallowed for off-side, while George Magariro suffered the same agony in the second half.

Shabanie Mine shot to the top of  log after beating  Blue  Rangers 2-1 at Maglas on Sunday, while Highlanders are brathing fire early into the season, firing 5-3 past debutants Hardbody at Barbourfields on Sunday.

It is too early to tell, but  Monoz and Bosso, plus Shabanie have fired warning shots to the likes of Dynamos and FC Platinum that they will each be a force to be reckoned with this season. The title race does not appear like it will be a two horse race this time around.
