Temwanjira hattrick lifts Vaslui in Romania

Temwanjira hattrick lifts Vaslui in Romania
Forgotten big Zimbabwean striker Mike "Mbozha" Temwanjira has been in excellent goal scoring form recently in Romania and on Monday scored a hattrick for FC Vaslui against Gaz Metan Medias in a Liga match on Monday night to lift his club into 2nd position on the Romania's Liga 1.

Temwanjira, who has scored a total of four goals in the last two matches for Vaslui , has suddenly found a rich vein of form which eluded him for almost half of the season, is certainly  man on fire.

His three goals have taken his tally in Romania's topflight league to 7 league goals, even though he has also scored in the UEFA's Europa League which his Romanian club participated in earlier this year.

With how things are shaping up, Vaslui will find themselves playing UEFA Champions League football next season if they finish in 2nd. Romania fields two teams in either of UEFA's top notch club competitions, the Champions League and the Europa League.

Vaslui is eve poised to lift the league title as their current form is probably the hottest in Liga 1. When you get to the final stages of a league where the title race is going to the wire, a club needs its experienced players to see it through a difficult phase.

FC Vaslui is lucky to have the experience of players like Temwanjira. Earlier in the season, Brazilian Wesley literally carried the goal scoring hopes of the club on his shoulders, and he currently stands as the league's top scorer at 24 goals.

Goals appear to have temporarily dried up for Wesley, but fortunately for Vasuli, Mbozha has hit top goal scoring form at the right time. The Zimbabwean has been creating opportunities for the likes of Wesley of bang goals in for fun, but now it is his turn to get the limelight.

It is not only surprising, but rather shocking, that Zimbabwe has not considered Temwanjira for a place in the national team, despite the fact that he has one of the highest profiles among all Zimbabwean foreign based players.
