Cosmos relegated to NFD
Jomo Cosmos who only got promotion back to the ABSA Premier Soccer League last season found their way back to the National First Division league just a season after winning promotion. This was confirmed after they drew 2-2 against another relegation haunted club Black Leopards.

Leopards, now under the tutelage of their former coach Sunday Chidzambwa, fired two early goals to take a 2-0 lead through inspirational captain Mongezi Bobe who celebrated his birthday in style by leading his club's fight for survival.

Cosmos staged a comeback and scored goals through Tshidiso Tukane and Matthew Rusike, with the Zimbabwean's equalising goal sparking hopes of a dramatic come-back to salvage something for Jomo Sono's men.

It was not going to be, and Ezenkosi have now been relegated and will have to content with budget cuts in the lower division.

Instead, it was a group of visitors who celebrated the draw like a team that has won a trophy, with 26 points, they have now moved two points clear of another team that finds itself in the doldrums, Santos of Cape Town who sit on 24 points with just a game remaining.

Chidzambwa's Leopards are still in the fight against the drop, and will need to ensure that they grab victory or at least a draw against Ajax Cape Town, hoping that if they only manage a draw, the result in the Santos/Jomo Cosmos match in Cape Town.

The permutations going into the last week of PSL action are that Leopards have no choice but to win their tie against Ajax. Cosmos have little to play for against Santos, giving advantage to the Cape Town-based side on the last day. A draw against Ajax for Leopards will see them join Cosmos to the lower division.
