Nomvete takes all major PSL awards
Veteran Moroka Swallows striker who has struck a rich vein of amazing form at the age of 34, won four major awards at South Africa's 2011/12 ABSA Premier Soccer League (PSL) season awards ceremony held at Gold Reef City on Sunday night.

Bhele, who last got the double delight of PSL's Player of the Season and Players' Player of the Year at his prime during the 1999/2000 season, has proven that like wine, he is growing better with age.

This time around, the veteran striker who has since been recalled to the Bafana Bafana camp for the  World Cup qualifiers, scooped four awards.

The dribbling wizard and speedstar Bhele was voted PSL's overall Footballer of the Season, PSL's Player of the Season, Players' Player of the Season and Top Goal Scorer in the just ended season where he scored 20 goals.

Other winners on the night included Mamelodi Sundowns's big Zimbabwean striker Nyasha Mushekwi who walked away as the Nedbank Cup Player of the tournament after banging in 10 goals in just one tournament, an amazing feat for a striker from whom much was expected after a very promising debut season in the PSL in which he scored 14 goals and just  one shy eventual Golden Boot winner Knowledge Musona.

Nedbank champions Supersport provided the tournament's best Young Player in the form of the gifted Thabiso Nkoana. There is such potential in Nkoana, and it is just a matter of time before he is called to the Bafana Bafana squad.

Veteran Orlando Pirates striker Benedict McCarthy walked away with two awards on the night, the Absa-lutely Awesome Goal of the season and the Telkom Player of the tournament award, while his teammate Oupa Manyisa was voted MTN's Last Man Standing.
