Maroons snatches last victory over Simba

Maroons ended their Bell Super League campaign with victory as they beat Simba 1-0 at Luzira yesterday thanks to  Isaac Kisujju goal.  This  was also Simba’s first loss in six games, the army side completing their  season with a defeat

Fred Kajoba’s side are fourth on 46 points but are assured of finishing fifth if Proline beat KCC on Sunday. Asaph Mwebaze’s Maroons have ended their campaign in 12th place with 33 points.

The match was brought forward from the final day, Sunday, on the request of Simba, who are due to play Rwanda’s APR tomorrow in Mbarara in commemoration of Heroe’s Day.
Kisujju scored Maroons’ winner on 44 minutes when he connected home Peter Otai’s free kick to the delight of their coach Asaph Mwebaze (pictured). This was also striker George Abege and skipper Martin Mpuga’s last game as they head to newly-promoted Victoria University for the next season.
