Antipas' SønderjyskE hits Rander for six in Denmark

Antipas" SønderjyskE hits Rander for six in Denmark
Quincy Antipas scored a goal as his club SønderjyskE showed serious intentions of challenging for Denmark's topflight league title,  the Danish Superliga, and now tops the table after demolishing Randers 6-1 at home in the first match of the season on Saturday at the Haderslev Fodboldstadion.

Six SønderjyskE players were on the target on the day, and the Zimbabwean who quit the national team under unclear circumstances, scored in the 33rd minute to open his account in the Superliga.

Antipas, who has played in Zimbabwe, Morocco and the lower divisions of Denmark before been snaped up by HG Koge who later lost him to SønderjyskE two seasons ago, was his club's top goal scorer last season and his more than seven goals helped SønderjyskE to finish in midtable.

If there is a player that Zimbabwe needs in the national team at this stage it is players of the calibre of Antipas.

Interestingly Zimbabwe has relied on young prodigy Knowledge Musona for goals, yet the country boasts of experienced strikers who might offer a better goal scoring rate than the Germany based youngster who has since quit the national team after Zifa recently accused him of match-fixing.

There are good Europe-based strikers who could help the national team's cause. Mike Temwanjira for example, was in great form for his Romanian Liga 1 club FC Vaslui, and will be playing UEFA Champions League football this new season (2012/2013).

Another Zimbabwean in action over the weekend was former Dynamos star Archieford Gutu, who came on in the 74th minute for his club Kalmar FF in their 2-1 victory over Elfsborg in the club's 15th match of the season. Kalmar are currently in mid-table at position nine with 15 points.
