Chinyama on his way to Pirates?

The much talked about Takesure Chinyama move from Dynamos to Orlando Pirates appears to be nearing finalisation now, with news coming from Harare indicating that the player could be travelling to Johannesburg to join the Mayfair club as we write.

Last week, Screamer Tshabalala from Pirates was in Harare for negotiations with the Zimbabwean champions Dynamos, and the deal is reported to be now 95% complete, as reported by the Harare giants Secretary General Raymond Kazembe.

The parties were reportedly locked in negotiations for about four hours at the National Sports Stadium offices, and there were reports that a further meeting was scheduled for Monday (yesterday).

Now Dynamos seem to have changed their earlier guarded optimism and are declaring that the deal is as good as done.

“Yes there have been some developments since
the last time we spoke, as Screamer Tshabalala was here last week, on behalf of
Orlando Pirates.

"The two teams have agreed on terms for the services of the
player, although there are only a few minor issues still to be ironed out. We
can safely say Takesure’s move is as good as done! It is 95% complete,” Kazembe told Soccer Laduma.

Kazembe confirmed that Chinyama's gesture of bowing four times before Dynamos supporters following a 1-1 drawn match against Castle Lager premiership pacesetters Highlanders was indeed a farewell gesture as the player bade the supporters goodbye.

“He scored one of the quickest goals we’ve seen, in
the second minute of the game. It was a cracker of a goal!

"He did it for the
supporters and it was such an emotional send off for him because our supporters
love him. The stadium was packed to capacity and he was given a standing ovation
after the final whistle, as he thanked the supporters," added Kazembe.

While it appears like Chinyama might have played his final game in Dynamos' famous blue colours, it remains not so crystal clear if the parties were able to iron out the differences between Dynamos' valuation of the player and what the Buccaneers are offering.

Nothing has yet been said about what came off the scheduled Monday meeting, if it ever took place. But if Chinyama is flying out to Johannesburg, one can be excused for inferring that the deal has been completed.
