Chinyama in Bucs colours at last!
SOWETO giants of South Africa's ABSA premiership and defending league champions Orlando Pirates have finally confirmed the signing of Harare's Dynamos FC striker Takesure Chinyama on a three-year contract.

The club website has announced the capture of the hot Zimbabwean striker Chinyama.

"With the start of the season a few weeks away, Orlando
Pirates have clinched the services of Zimbabwean striker Takesure
Chinyama to bolster the teams’ attack.

" can confirm that the burly Zimbabwean striker has penned a three year deal with the club," the club's website wrote on Wednesday afternoon.

The website further confirmed that Chinyama had already started training with the Mayfair side and was welcomed by the coach Augusto Palacios.

In welcoming Chinyama to the club, the Bucs head coach said that he has been impressed by the former Legia Warsaw of Poland striker's movement off the ball, his ball control and general technique.

“At Orlando Pirates we only want to bring the best players. He signed
with the team because he is a good player. I like the way he makes his
runs and he has good touches on the ball.

“He trained with us today and from what I could see, he is a player with
tremendous potential; playing for Pirates is different – the players
have very little time to adjust because this is a big club and the fans
demand a lot from the players.

“He needs to gain match fitness and I hope he will give that depth in the team’s’ attack,” Palacios said.

The 29-year Chinyama is now a Buccaneer and he is expected to partner 34-year old veteran striker Benny McCarthy upfront for Pirates.

Chinyama comes with his goal scoring reputation of his own achieved while playing football in Europe, where he turned out for regular UEFA Champions League and Europa league campaigners Legia Warsaw.

The former Dynamos player was Golden Boot winner in Poland's Ekstraklasa in 2008/2009 season after having scored more than 20 goals, which included 19 league goals. A season before that Chinyama has banged in 18 goals.

He leaves Dynamos having already scored more than 10 goals for the Zimbabwean champions whom he joined upon his return from Europe. Chinyama has since regained his place in the Zimbabwe senior national soccer team, the Warriors, but is yet to score a goal in two matches.
