Rusike eyeing Europe move, only keeping fit at Ajax
Zimbabwe's Jomo Cosmos skillful and speedy attacking midfielder/second striker Matthew Rusike has revealed that he is waiting on confirmation for a move to Denmark Superliga side Aalborg BK and has clarified that he is simply keeping fit at Ajax Cape Town.

Rusike sought to quell rumours that he was on trial at Ajax and explained to Soccer Laduma  that he was simply keeping fit with the Urban Warriors while waiting for the Danish club to make up their mind about whether or not they will sign him.

Also contrary to the trial rumour, Ajax is one of the local clubs that have already tabled an offer for the Zimbabwe Under 23 star, besides the much reported Kaizer Chiefs interest.

I would just like to confirm that I am not on trial at Ajax, Im simply training with the team to keep fit.

"Ajax and Kaizer Chiefs have offered me deals to join them, as well as a top-flight Danish team," Rusike explained to Soccer Laduma.

Regarding the interest from Aalborg, the Cosmos man had this to say:

Im waiting on them (the Danish
team) to make their final assessment to see whether I can join them or
not, as Europe is my preferred destination. If not then (I) will decide on a
local club in the next few days,
added Rusike.

The local club that Rusike could join in the event that the Denmark move fails to materialise is simply a toss between Ajax and Chiefs. The latter moved swiftly earlier this month to publicly declare their interest in the player.

Whether Chiefs' stated interest could sway things in their favour in the event that Rusike opts to remain in the ABSA premiership or not is difficult to say. The player is training with Ajax for now and has ample time to decide if the playing style and environment there suits him.

Beezsports, without the knowledge that Rusike was training with Ajax, had earlier observed that Ajax Cape Town style of play appears to suit Rusike better than the Chiefs style.

And the fact that the youngster chose to train with the Mother City club could be an indication that he agrees with Beezsports' assessment that Ajax could be a better club for him to join, for now, should the Europe move not materialise.

A move to Europe however, should be the player's priority, and the good thing is that Rusike himself realises that.

Best wishes  Matthew in your endeavors to seek greener pastures! Your talent deserves a higher platform than what any African league can offer.
