Warriors squad for Angola return leg named

Zimbabwe"s golden boy Musona is back in reckoning for Angola tie
Zimbabwe senior national team (Warriors) coach Rahman Gumbo has released a provisional squad for the Africa Cup of Nations 2013 second leg of the final qualifier against Angola to be played in Luanda next month.

Germany-based Knowledge Musona and Bidvest Wits' Tinashe Nengomasha who missed the first leg early this month due to unavailability due to Zifa's alleged bungling, make their way back to the squad.

A major absentee is Willard Katsande who has fought his way back into reckoning at in-form Kaizer Chiefs in the ABSA premiership. It is not clear why Katsande was omitted, with the possible reason being that he is still saving suspension after he was red carded in a match against Burundi.

Another surprise omission from the squad is Ovidy Karuru of OH Leuven in Belgium. The two midfielders have been key to Zimbabwe in the past few few years.

One needs to investigate if a player is not expected to miss just two matches. Katsande, if that position is the correct, seems to have served his suspension period.

Europe based players included in the squad include Augsburg player Musona, Archford Gutu who plays his football in Sweden for Kalmar, Denmark-based and new Brondby attacking midfielder/striker Quincy Antipas, England-based Plymouth Argyle defender Onismor Bhasera, Noel Kaseke of Alki Larnaca in Cyprus and Germinal Beerschot of Belgium's Vusa Nyoni.

From South Africa, apart from Nengomasha, Moroka Swallows' Oscar Machapa, Amazulu's rock-solid defender Carlington Nyadombo, Mamelodi Sundowns' Esrom Nyandoro, Ajax Cape Town's Khama Billiat, Orlando Pirates' Takesure Chinyama and Brian Amidu of Black Leopards were also called.

There were places for locals like lanky Buffaloes defensive midfielder Prosper Matizanadzo, defender Innocent Mapuranga, goalkeeper Ariel Sibanda and in-form striker Masimba Mambare, all of Highlanders, keeper Marlon Jani of Motor Action, Maxwell Nyamupangedengu, Dynamos keeper George Chigova, lively midfielder Denver Mukamba and defender Patson Jaure and FC Platinum's gifted striker Donald Ngoma.

Goalkeepers: Marlon Jani (Motor Action), George Chigova (Dynamos), Ariel Sibanda (Highlanders), Maxwell Nyamupangedengu (Harare City)
