Supersport on verge of signing Sithole

Sithole in CAPS colours before he joined Sundowns in probably the worst career move by the player

Talented Dynamos striker Simba Sithole is close to returning to the ABSA premiership with Supersport United after impressing coach Gavin Hunt and his technical team in Pretoria following trials which are said to have really gone well for the youngster.

Sithole arrived in Tshwane a few days after the schedule due to an injury he sustained just as he prepared to leave Harare for Pretoria. When he reecovered he quickly joined Hunt's former ABSA PSL champions.

During the plus or minus five days that Sithole trained with Supersport United, the youngster has thoroughly impressed, and there is not even talk that the player has already agreed personal terms with the Tshwane outfit, subject to Dynamos agreeing to release the player for a fee.

Sithole, formerly with CAPS United before coming to South Africa two seasons ago, endured a furstrating season with former champions Mamelodi Sundowns, a period in which, despite his huge talent, he never kicked a ball for South Africa's Galacticos.

This led to the player's handlers requesting Sundowns to release him from his contract to enable him to return home to revive his bright and promising career. His wish was granted and he returned home to join Dynamos, when everyone else expected him to join CAPS.

The move was a master stroke of genius as the player made a contribution, scoring 10 goals in ten matches, exactly the same number of goals which he scored in the same number of games he had played for CAPS before he joined Sundowns.

If he joins Supersport, Sithole will have the chance to demonstrate his goal scoring prowess. At least Hunt had a forestate of things to come when he watched his target bag a brace in the friendly match win over in-form Platinum Stars.
