Work permit scuttles Bhasera Yeovil move

Work permit scuttles Bhasera Yeovil move
Ex-Plymouth Argyle player and Zimbabwean international Onismor Bhasera's proposed move to Yeovil Town appears to have collapsed due only to work permit challenges, despite the player having hugely impressed coach Yeovil manager Gary Johnson.

Bhasera, who spent about a week training with the Glovers since turning down a contract extension at Plymouth, has not even been included in the squad which is currently away in Portugal for continuation of pre-season training.

Johnson explains Bhasera's absence.

“The problem with him is that his work permit has run out and we
can’t afford to wait five or six weeks for a work permit because he
would have missed the first five or six games of the season.

“There are new rules coming in for non-EU players and he’s from
Zimbabwe. It’s probably going to be difficult for us to sign him now,
although he’s a good player and we would’ve liked to have taken him on,” Johnson explained.

Bhasera was Plymouth's Player of the Season for 2012/2013 season, and it has been clear to all those who cared to notice that he was way too good for League One in England.

It seems that Baz could be on his way to Turkey where he is wanted by Turkish Super League side Elazigspor. His agent Ralph Nkomo is currently negotiating with the Turkish topflight club for Bhasera's move following the collapse of hopes of remaining in England.
