Dynamos leapfrog Bosso after B/Fields win

Dynamos' Ocean Mushure won a penalty and converted it towards the end of the match to give Dynamos a vital away 1-0 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match win at Barbourfields on Sunday.

Mthulusi Maphosa spoiled a good day in office for the Bosso midfield when he unfortunately brought down Mushure in the box, leading the referee to award a spot kick to the HARARE side.

As is always the case when these two giants of Zimbabwean football play, the contest was a close affair, and the team which took its chances walked away with maximum points.

Both teams finished with ten men after Patson Jaure and Njabulo Ncube were sent off by the referee for an altercation.

The win sees Dynamos move to 48 points and level with Harare City who beat Buffaloes 2-1 in Harare, and are only second to DeMbare by virtue of an inferior goal difference of plus 12 compared to Dynamos' plus 19 goal difference. Highlanders are now 3rd on 47 points, with Platinum Stars following on 4th spot with 45 points. CAPS United are 5th with 42 points after beating How Mine 1-0 at the National Sports Stadium also on Sunday. High-riding Triangle coached by Gishon Ntini are placed 6th with 38 points following a run of more than five games without defeat. They walloped struggling Tripple B 5-0 away from home on Sunday. Ntini has assembled a very competitive outfit with individuals whose performances should attract the attention of Warriors coach  I an Gorowa. Chicken Inn sit on 7th with 37 points, while revived Hwange complete the top 8 with 35 points.

Many analysts speak about the race for the league title as if it is now a contest between perennial rivals Dynamos, Highlanders, Planinum Stars and CAPS United, and little credit is given to Bigboy Mawiwi for the great work he has done with Sunshine Boys who have as much a realistic chance of winning the title as Dynamos and Highlanders.

While Platinum Stars and CAPS United are not completely out of the race, Bosso, Dembare and Sunshine boys appear to have positioned themselves for a very interesting finish to the Castle Lager PSL season.
