Warriors line up CHAN friendly preps
The Zimbabwe senior national soccer team, the Warriors have already begun preparations for the Championship of Nations (CHAN) finals which will take place in South Africa. After playing Tanzania last week, the Warriors will play further friendlies against Mozambique, Libya a mooted Gabon friendly match, and then a training camp in Cape Town.

The Zimbabwe Football Association is on record as having said that they plan to leave no stone unturned in helping Warriors coach Ian Gorowa to prepare his side for a third successive finals appearance.

The Warriors are due to play Mozambique in a friendly match planned for Barbourfields on 8 December. Thereafter, ZIFA have announced a Libya friendly match on 18 December, and it remains to be seen whether the two associations have now agreed to play the match in Tunisia or Tripoli.

Zifa is understood to have been concerned about given the security uncertainties in the country, and had proposed playing the match in neighbouring Tunisia, which the Libyan FA, understandably did not take kindly to. It appears that things have returned to some semblance of normalcy in Libya.

Playing Libya will help the Warriors gauge themselves against North African opposition since their Chan group includes  Morocco, apart from Burkina Faso and Uganda.

Last week's friendly match against Tanzania should have given the Warriors team a taste of East African opposition, and the team should have an idea of what to expect when they square off against multiple CECAFA Champions Uganda.

The Gabon match is meant to help the Chan squad prepare for a match against West African opposition, Burkina Faso.

The Warriors are set to hold a training camp in Cape Town, the host city of all of Zimbabwe's group matches.
