Edward Sadomba scored the first goal in Al Hilal"s 2-0 victory over Al Ittihad

Edward Sadomba scored the first goal in the Sudanese giants Al Hilal's 2-0 victory over semi-final spot contenders Al Ittihad of Libya over the weekend to book a semi-final place in this year's CAF: Confederations Cup.

Following their 2-0 win over Al Ittihad through goals from Sadomba and Mohammed Ahmed Bisha, Al Hilal have now taken their tally of points in Group A to 12, while Al Ittihad remain at 9 points.

The last round of matches will follow in a fortnight when Al Ittihad will be expected to easily make a passage and join Al Hilal in the semi-finals. The Libyans will host Mali's Djoliba who are currently lying third in Group A with 7 points, in a decisive match in two weeks' time.

In Group  B, the semi-finalists spots were completely decided over the weekend when both CS Sfaxien of Algeria and FUS Rabat of Morocco won their matches against their opposition to move 10 points at the top.

The Algerians, twice winners of the competition, lead the group on goal difference. The two leading teams will meet in the final match of the group in Morocco. FUS Rabat will fight harder to win the match and avoid meeting Al Hilal in the semi-finals.

CS Sfaxien defeated Al Hoodood of Egypt 3-1 at home, with goals from  Abass Hashim and Lassaadi Dridi. The Egyptian military team scored one through Ahmed Salem.

FUS Rabbat fought to a well deserved 1-1 draw with the home team Zanaco of Zambia. The Moroccans were the first to score through Niger-born striker Alhassane Issoufou, before the home side fought back to equalise through Thomas Nyirenda later on in the match.
