Musona scored two goals in Chiefs" 2-0 win against Back Aces

South Africa's ABSA Premier Soccer League had its last games for the year 2010 last night, and there were mixed fortune for top team in the league. Mamelodi Sundowns suffered a surprise loss at Amazulu, while Musona's illuminated the night in Witbank as Chiefs bagged 3 points.

Black Aces 0 - 2 Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs dangerous striker Knowledge Musona scored a brace in Witbank to give Chiefs maximum points and move the Amakhosi to within 4 points of log leaders Sundowns. The 'Smiling Assasin' gave Chiefs an early lead within 55 seconds with a bicycle kick from a Thomas Sweswe perfect cross. Musona was back to haunt Aces in the 54th minute when he scored another brilliant goal to give the Phefeni Boys a 2-0 victory. Musona continues to lead the goal charts in the PSL and has scored 3 goals in two matches to take his tally to 9 goals.

Mamelodi Sundowns 2 - 3 Amazulu

Amazulu came to the Sundowns territory at Lucas Moripe Stadium and left the Sandawana camp shell-shocked with a 3-2 victory, rich in quality. Lehlohonolo Majoro scored a brae in the first half within only eight minutes, that is in the 8th and 16th minutes to give Usuthu a 2-0 half time lead. Sundowns hit back with two early second half substitutes, striker Katlego Mphela in the 50th minute and underrated midfielder Lionel Mtizwa who equalised for Downs in the 77th minute. Defender Tangeni Shipahu had other ideas and put Amazulu back in the lead in the 88th minute.

Golden Arrows 1 - 1 Ajax Cape Town

Ajax visited Arrows in Durban and returned with a result, which is definitely a point gained rather than 2 points dropped. Arrows is a team in fine form at the moment, and gaining a point at home is a great achievement. The Urban Warriors stole the lead against the home team in the 29th minute when young Zimbabwean striker Khama Billiart when he was put through by the enterprising Bafana trialist Thulani Serero. Arrows replied in the 60th minute through substitute Sphesihle Nzimande to end the match tied at 1-1.

Orlando Pirates 0 - 0 Platinum Stars

Pirates where held to a goalless draw by battling Stars at the Orlando Stadium last night. The visitors dominated much of play in the first half, and Lebo Ramolesa's inch perfect pass to Thuso Phala was wasted with the former Chiefs and Sundowns player failing in a one-on-one situation with keeper Senzo Meyiwa. The only notable chance that Pirates had came in the 55th minute when in-form midfielder Teko Modise spotted Tapuwa Kapini off his line, but his attempted lob was smothered by Kapini. Platimunm Stars managed to hold on despite having played with 10 men after the sending off of Ramolesa in the 55th minute for a second bookable offence.

Free State Stars 0 - 1 Bloemfontein Celtic

Celtic won their provincial derby with FS Stars at the Botshapelo Stadium on Wednesday night. Substitute Bennet Chenene scored the only goal of the match in 73rd minute to give the visitors a 1-0 victory. Stars could have scored in the 71st minute but Kingston Nkatha's header was well saved by Celtic goalie Patrick Tignyemb.

Vasco da Gama 0 -0 Moroka Swallows

Visiting Swallows survived the sending off of two players, defender Roger Da Costa in the 68th minute for a second bookable offence, and then roving midfielder Oscar Machapa received his marching orders under similar circumstances.

Bidvest Wits 1 - 2 Maritzburg United

United earned a crucial victory against home team Wits, handing the Students their first home defeat this season. Rudolph Bester's 67th minute sole effort resulted in a goal which gave the visitors the lead. Letsie Koapeng, a late second half substitute levelled matters of the home team in the 75th minute, only four minutes after his introduction. Diyo Sibisi then stole the victory for the visitors in the 84th minute with a fine header.

Santos 2 - 1 Supersport United

Santos beat struggling Champions Supersport 2-1 at the Athlone Stadium. Vuyisile Wana connected from an Orlin Powell cross to draw first blood for the home team. Erwin Isaacs then doubled The People's Team's advantage in the 63rd minute. United tried to rally from behind and grabbed an 86th minute goal through Antony Laffor, but it was too late for Supersport to get an equaliser.
