Bhasera on the verge of joining Blackpool in England

Zimbabwe's talented midfielder Onismor Bhasera, who is currently playing for Plymouth Argyle in League One is poised for a dream move into the Barclays Premiership League with high-riding Blackpool Football Club. He is currently being assessed for a loan move during this January transfer period.

The BBC Sport-Football has reported that Blackpool are currently working on finalising a deal for the Plymouth midfielder, who can also play on the left back.

The loan deal that Blackpool is looking for will only be until end of the season, with an option for a permanent deal should Bhasera impress during his loan stay at Blackpool.

Bhasera's manager at Plymouth, Peter Reid is convinced that the negotiations will be successful, and that a deal is possible before the transfer deadline closes.

"It should go through.

"He's up there at the moment. We get a fee on that as well, which helps what we're trying to do in the terms of paying the tax man," Reid told the BBC Sport on Thursday.

Bhasera has played 32 official games for Argyle after joining them on a free last season.

He started his career at Harare United, a first division team in his homeland, Zimbabwe. South African giants Kaizer Chiefs signed him from another local team Maritzburg United before the 2007/2008 season began.

The former Chiefs player was to be involved in a war of acrimony with Chiefs following a misunderstanding between the parties. Bhasera insisted that he was a free agent when he went club hunting in England. His intended move to Portsmouth in 2009 was scuppered by this misunderstanding.

After so many unfruitful attempts to join a number of Championship clubs for one reason or the other, the Warriors man was captured by Reid's Argyle.

Crystal Palace will be the main loser if Bhasera completes his move to Blackpool. The Championship side has been on his trail since 2009. In August they had a bid for the player turned down by Argyle, and they were reported to be getting ready with a fresh bid in 2011.

Bhasera will become only the fourth Zimbabwean to turn out for an English Premiership club after Bruce Grobelaar (ex-Liverpool keeper), Peter Ndlovu (ex-Coventry and Birmingham City player), Benjamin "Benjani" Mwaruwari, currently with Blackburn Rovers).
