Sibanda is the King of the forest of premier soccer league in Zimbabwe

Charles Sibanda, who won the unbranded 2010 Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League title with Motor Action was unveiled as the winner of the Footballer of the Season award last night in Harare.

Sibanda, who is no longer with the Mighty Bulls, after quitting the Champions and joining new boys Mimosas, was clearly outstanding in a season in which Motor Action proved to have been the most consistently performing team in the PSL.

The playmaker's goals kept Motor Action on top of the log for much of the season. Sibanda did not only score goals, he created them as well.

Together with Allan Gahadzikwa and Bheki Ncube, Sibanda led the Mighty Bulls' charge towards their first ever championship title.

Joel Ngodzo, a talented winger who dazzled opponents with his sublime skills in Highlanders colours last season, walked away with the pride of having been named first runner up.

The Zimbabwe Under 23 and CHAN squad member, has since left Bosso together with his brother Zephaniah to join newly promoted Mimosas, affectionately known as 'Platinum Stars'.

Benjamin Marere, formely with Dynamos in Harare, won the second runner up award.

Goalkeeper Edmore Sibanda was an obvious choice for keeper of the year, having been the only keeper on the list of 11 soccer star of the year finalists. He had the distinction of scoring 6 premiership goals, mainly through free-kicks.
