15 Year old girl Beats Uganda Cranes in USPA awards

Fifteen year old Jamila Lunkuse defeated Uganda Cranes in January 2011 Uganda Sports Press Awards (USPA) with 515 votes against Uganda Cranes 425 points for Ugandan sports personality of the month sponsored by Uganda Telecom Company in Kampala.

Lunkuse won 2 gold medals and 3 silver medals for Uganda in swimming competitions in Botswana and  was therefore awarded the sports personality of the month.

She was also given special recognition because of her tender age

"Am very privileged to be honored and recognized by  USPA. I promise to work harder and improve on my talent," said the glittering Lunkuse.

Uganda's Cranes was voted second with 425 votes for their wonderful performance in the Nile Basin Tournament, where they finished second and moved a way with the controversial 286 million shillings richer, though they lost 3-1 to hosts Egypt.

Victor football club was given special consideration for its efforts to qualify for the next round in the CAF Confederations Cup by snatching an away point from Mbabane Highlanders of Swaziland.
