Victors crush Fire Masters, moves to 3rd in USL



George "Best" Nsimbe proved to Ugandans that his side is a continental class after crushing Fire Masters 5-2 in Eco Bank Uganda Super League encounter at Kakindu Stadium in Jinja.

 Victors thumped the fire fighters in an important win which helped them move to 3rd position of Uganda’s top League with 27 points in 15 matches.

Victors triumph was inspired by Jorem   Katende who netted  in the 10th minute, Karim Ndugwa’s double strike helped the Jinja boys make it 3-0 in the 20th and 30th minute. Patrick Ssebuya scored the 4th goal and Ssebuza Sula sealed Victors’ win by scoring the 5th goal.

Muhumuza Paddy successfully converted Fire Master’s penalty following a box foul to Jullius Okocha, giving them their first goal and Jullius Okocha netted a late minute consolation goal making it 5-2.

Victors secured their 7th win of the season and have won their last 4 games in all competitions, including a 4-1 penalty shoot out win of Mbabane highlanders in Caf confederations Cup.

The table leaders KCC travelled to northern Uganda town of Gulu and defeated Gulu united 1-0 at Peace Stadium in Gulu. KCC’s win helped them strengthen their 1st position on the  USL log with 35 points in 15 matches.

URA beat Proline 2-0 at Lugazi Stadium in Kampala in an encounter that was described as "match of the week".

Phenny Moses scored URA’s first goal in the 32nd minute from Manco Kaweesa’s pass. 6minutes later, "Diego" Hamis Kiiza sealed the tax collectors win by netting a 38th minute goal.

Prolines’s manager Mujib Kasule praised his side for the wonderful show despite losing to what he described as "a more experienced side".

URA’s win increased their points to 29 in 15 matches and they are now 2nd position on the log.

In other matches, Bunamwaya secured their 9th win of the season after defeating Maroons 1-0 at Maroon Stadium in Luzila  with a goal courtesy of substitute Tony Odur.

Utoda defeated Police 2-1 at Wankulukuku Stadium in Kampala.
