We are not under pressure to win: Zebras coach

Zebras on the brink of qualifying for their first ever AFCON finals in 2012

Many nuetrals expect Africa's team of the moment Botswana to continue writing their fairytale in the Orange Africa Cup of Nations 2012 qualifiers to be hosted in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon, when they play Chad away in ND'jamena today in a Group K tie.

The Zebras currently lead standings in Group K with 13 points after five games, and now require only three points to qualify for the AFCON finals. Yet the Zebras' coach insists that his team is under no pressure to qualify this weekend.

"We are not putting ourselves under any pressure.

"We shouldn't have expectations that destroy our mission - we still have other games to play," coach Stanley Tshosane told the BBC Sport this week.

Tshosane has revealed the reason behind their success story in the afcon qualifiers this time aorund.

"We came up with a good plan for the competition, we had sufficient time for preparation [and] we are working as a team," the Zebras' coach said recently.

Motivational speaking from psychologists, Tshosane further reveals, has been the plus factor for the team's good run in the competition.

"We have been engaging some psychologists - we are doing everything that can help us physically and mentally," Tshosane has said.

Even if they lose today's match, Botswana can still top this group at the end of the qualifiers and qualify for the finals.

Two teams will qualify from Group K, and as it stands, Botswana are poised to break their AFCON duck and qualify for the first ever time.
