Dynamos depart for the Algerian mission

DeMbare are off to Algeria as they seek to make certain their qualification for the second round

Zimbabwe's remaining CAF: Champions League participants, Dynamos will depart today for Algeria as they seek to complete the task of qualifying for the next round of the competition at the expense of their hosts MC Algers whom they walloped 4-1 in the first leg at Rufaro Stadium two weeks ago.

DeMbare's technical team insists that the game is not yet over, despite their healthy 4-1 lead, and they seek to score an early goal against the Algerians to exert more pressure on them.

"It's not over yet. We are going there with an open mind and since this is a new game altogether, we just want to play our game and enjoy it," assistant coach Ralph Kawondera has stated.

"MC Alger are a good side, hence we should not relax. It's a new game and we must play to win as if there was no first leg, " Kawondera added.

Dynamos have dropped two high profile players from the squad that will travel to the North African nation. Former skipper Murape Murape and Timire Mamvura have been dropped for various reasons.

DeMbare will board the Ethiopian Airlines, in a trip that will see them go to Adis Ababa, before connecting to Algeria via Rome in Italy.

The Blues camp was boosted on Tuesday by the arrival, albeit late, of key players Archieford Gutu, Denver Mukamba, Guthrie Zhokinyu and keeper Washington Arubi, who were delayed by the problems which bedevilled the Warriors on their return from Mali.

The quartet did duty for Zimbabwe in the African Nations Cup 2012 qualifier in Bamako where they lost 0-1 to the hosts Mali, and the national team got stranded along the way on their way back home.

Coach Lloyd Mutasa would have preferred to have had more time with all his players to emphasise on combinations within the team before departure.

The team will seeek to prove that their shock defeat at the hands of little Kiglon last week does not take away from the fact that the team is currently enjoying fluidity in all departments.

The team is well aware of the fact that a 3 goal deficit can easily be wiped off should they allow the Algerians much room to manouvre during the weekend match.

With a 3-0 result, MC Algers can easily overturn the tables and qualify ahead of the Glamour Boys. Mutasa and his team will certainly seek to avoid such a scenario.

Vice Chairperson of the club Kenny Mubaiwa and committee member Mike George will lead the Dynamos delegation off to Algeria.
