13 yellow cards, 2 red cards destroyed Dynamos

Sketchy details are beginning to emerge from the CAF Champions League first round 2nd leg match between MC Algers and Dynamos.

Reports from Algeria, which are yet to be verified  indicate that the entire Dynamos in-field players received a caution in form of yellow cards from the Egyptian referee who handled this crucial match.

A total of 13 yellow cards were issued against Dynamos players, while Archieford Gutu and Guthrie Zhokinuy received red cards in the second half after having both collected yellow cards in the first half to leave Dynamos reduced to 9 men in this crucial fixture.

The Algerians got their first goal in the 43rd minute, before going up 2-0 in the 75th minute following a hotly disputed penalty kick awarded by the referee.

MC Algers scored the crucial goal in the 89th minute to bring the away goal's rule into effect, after the tie ended 4-4 after 90 minutes.

It was not clear at the time of writing if Dynamos have filed a complaint with CAF over the manner the match officials from Egypt handled this encounter in Algeria.

The Algerians will  proceed to the next round where they will  meet Interclube of Angola who defeaed Sudanese giants El Merreikh 3-2 in penalties after the tie ended 2-2 on aggregate.

The Angolans responded to a 0-2 defeat by the Sudanese two weeks ago with a 2-0 victory of their own  before their own fans.
