FC Platinum have lost coach Benjamin Moyo who drowned on Friday in Shurugwi

Coach of the highly ambitious Zvishavane-based football club, FC Platinum Stars,  dubbed as the "new money bags" in Zimbabwean soccer, lost their coach Benjamin Moyo through painful circumstances, when he drowned in a pool during the team's camp in Shurugwi on Friday.

39 year-old Moyo was expected to transform FC Platinum into a formiddable outfit, ready to challenge for honours in the newly branded Castle Premier Soccer League.

The late Moyo was laid to rest in Bulilima on Monday following a well-attended ceremony at Empandeni Mission.

Benjamin was described by his brother Bennedict, ZIFA Board member for Competitions, as a big loss to the Moyo family.

I passed on the baton stick of coaching to Benjie. He never tolerated being treated badly because he knew what he wanted. As a family it is a big loss to us, said Bennedict Moyo.

Benjamin is survived by his three children Thandi, Bheki and Patience.
