Fortune smiles at Chidzambwa, Leopards

Shrewd coach Sunday Chidzambwa has led his team Leopards to PSL play-off & Cup final in SA

Ever since the former Zimbabwe Warriors coach Sunday "Mhofu" Chidzambwa crossed the Limpopo to seek greener pastures in South Africa, times have never been as good as they are at the moment. The veteran coach is just a few matches and minutes away from glory in the PSL Paly-offs and the Nedbank Cup final.

Mhofu has done a fairly remarkable job at modest First Division Limpopo club Black Leopards since taking over early into the season after resigning from his position as Head coach at Free State Stars.

Last weekend, Mhofu's First division club crowned their incredible run in the Nedbank Cup when they defeated  a Vodacom club Baroka CF who themselves had written a fairytale in the Cup by claiming the scalp of two SOWETO giants Moroka Swallows and Kaizer Chiefs on their way to the semi-finals.

The Nedbank Cup is one of South Africa's most prestigious Cup competitions, and carries with it a ticket to the CAF Confederations Cup.

Just a few days after defeating Baroka FC in the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup, the Limpopo community woke up on yesreday monring to the news that Lidoda Duvha has won a South African Football Association Appeal case and could play in the PSL play-offs!

Leopards had had three points deducted from them after having been found guilty by the PSL' Disciplinary Committee of having used an ineligible player, defaulter Edgar Manaka in a match against Batau FC.

Now that Leopards have successfully appealed the decision of the DC, the are poised for play-offs, unless Batau, the team that lodged the complaint with SAFA, decides to exercise their option to take the matter to arbitration.

As it stands, the Leopards family is facing money-spinning finals, within a space of one month, that is the Play-Off finals and the Nedbank finals.

Credit should definitely go to the midas touch brought to Lidoda Duvha by the former Warriors and Free State Stars coach Chidzambwa.

Now the team can focus on the Nedbank finals without having to worry about a failed campaign to win promotion to the PSL for the 2011/2012 season, says club owner, David Thidiela.

"God is we can focus on the Nedbank Cup final! " exclaimed Chief Thidiela.
