Inconsistent CAPS wallop Masvingo 4-1

Harare giants CAPS United followed up their recent 5-1 demolition of Kiglon with another impressive showing infront of goals when they brought Masvingo United down to earth with a 4-1 thumping at the Naional Sports Stadium on Wednesday.

Leading goal scorer in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League and a Mamelodi Sundowns target Simba Sithole was toast of the afternoon, baggin his second hattrick this season.

Goalkeeper Edmore Sibanda opened the floodgates for Makepekepe when he converted the spot-kick in the 26th minute, before Sithole weighed in with his three goals to take his tally to 10 goals so far this season.

Has Zimbabwe unearthed their new Shackman Tauro? Only time will tell, but there is no denying the fact that the Warriors and Under 23 star is a genuine quality goal scorer, and has started the season better than anyone other striker in the past three seasons.

Sithole has on average scored a goal in every match he has featured for CAPS United this season, save for one. On the international scene, the youngster has scored memorable goals for the Young Warriors.

In an All-Africa Games qualifier against Zambia in Lusaka, the CAPS gunman scored a double, and followed that up with a goal in the reverse encounter. In Botswana, Sithole banged in two, and followed that up with another brace as the Under 23 beat Botswana 4-1.

This gem of a striker has scored in every important match of the Young Warriors' campaign in the African safari. Thats a total of 7 goals in only four matches, everything points to the makings of a great striker indeed, by any standards ofcourse.

CAPS' win yesterday, has taken them back to the top four of the PSL, and boast the best striking record in the PSL, having scored 27 goals. However, the big dent on their record is a defence which leaks like a sieve, and has bleeded 16 goals!
