Mandaza for Maritzburg United?

Platinum Stars striker Terrence "Terror" Mandaza is linked with a move to KwaZulu-Natal-based Maritzburg United.

A source has revealed to that Maritzburg owner Farouk Khadodia is desperate to get Mandaza to KZN, and hopes that Stars will ask for a reasonable fee for a striker who spent last season warming the bench.

“Mandaza is a real talent,” the source told, “he has lots of potential and I don’t think he is even aware of his massive potential. The problem with him is that he does not want to work. He is sometimes lazy to knuckle down to hard work and this is his major undoing.

“I have no doubt in my mind that if “Terror” could just get down to some serious work, he could easily win a transfer to Europe. I think with his potential, he would be playing for the Zimbabwe national team right now. But as it is, he is laboring under the shadow of Nyasha Mushekwi and Knowledge Musona.”

An approach for the player was made during the January trnsfer window, but the two clubs could not agree on a fee.

The 25-year old Zimbabwean arrived at the Royal Bafokeng-sponsored out-fit at the beginning of last season after an impressive run the Botswana's T-Mobile League where scored an amazing 42 goals in a record-shattering scoring record.

Terror was voted T.Mobile League's Player of the Season and Players' Player of the Season. His stay at Stars has been plagued by injuries, which have seriously curtailed his appearances for the KwaZulu-Natal midlands club.

He arrived in South Africa's ABSA' premiership with so much promise that he was expected to make a greater impact than his Zimbabwean counterpart Nyasha Mushekwi who was also a rookie last season, but managed to end the year as the PSL's second best striker.
