Kapini finalises move to Amazulu

Zimbabwe Warriors and Platinum Stars goalkeeper Tapuwa Kapini has completed his move to Amazulu Football Club, and will now swap Rustenburg for Durban.

The former Stars keeper has signed a deal believe to be a three year contract, with a value of around R1million.

The player's agent Ryan Hartslief of Big Time Sports has confirmed the deal.

“We think it is a very good move, the coach of AmaZulu, Manqoba Mngqithi is an admirer of the player and he believes the club’s goalkeeper department needs beefing up and that Tapuwa will definitely add value,” Hartslief said.

“Tapuwa also wants to take the opportunity to thank Platinum Stars for all that they have done for him in the five seasons he has been with the club. He certainly has very fond memories of his time there.”

Having joined Stars in the 2006/2007 season, Kapini played a cool 97 games for Dinaledi and wore the captain's armband last season.

Kapini recently won back the number one spot in the Warriors from Washington Arubi, and had a great match between poles against Mali in an Africa Nations Cup qualifying match at Rufaro Stadium in early June.

Kapini told The Mail of Zimbabwe recently that he was looking for a new challenge in his career. Now he has found one at Amazulu, where he will have to compete against Bafana goalkeeper Mbongeni Mzimela.
