Musona also wanted by Glasgow Rangers

Suitors for Kaizer Chiefs' Zimbabwean international striker Knowledge Musona are beginning to increase, just at the right time for the young  talented player. Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers are reportedly about to table a firm offer for the player.

Rumours doing the rounds here in South Africa has it that Musona, who is awaiting a visa to go for trials in Germany with TSG 1899 Hoffeinheim is greatly admired by the Scottish champions' coach Neil Lennon.

Lennon has written to Kaizer Chiefs Chaiman Kaizer Motaung to register his keen interest in the player, with a promise for a firm offer to be placed on the Chiefs' owner's table possibly before end of the week.

Lennon and his technical team have been convinced by the videos of Chiefs hotshot player in action and appear ready to do business. As it appears, Rangers want to sign the player without the unnecessary trials at this stage.

Instead of it working out as a distraction to the player as he prepares for an assessment at Hoffenheim, it could work out in Chiefs' favour as they could hold out for a better offer.

There is a view that sees a possible move to Scotland as a better option for Musona, given the fact that Rangers will be taking part in the Champions League in the next season.

Playing in the UEFA Champions league is a good opportunity to showcase the player's ability to the rest of Europe.

Musona has proved to be a fine talent, having emerged as the Golden Boot winner in South Africa's just ended ABSA Premier Soccer League season, where he pocketed R25 000 for that award.

The Warriors striker also won the Telkom Knockout Tournament's Player of the series award, walking away R200 000 richer at the May PSL Annual awards.

Only yesterday, Musona received yet other awards, as he was chosen by his peers at Chiefs as the Players' Player of the Season, The Club's top goal scorer's award with 19 goals in all competitions, and Player of the season awards for the months of August, September, October, November and December.

The "Smiling Assassin" has done his bit in the ABSA PSL, and the time has arrived for him to test his skills and ability at a higher platform, in Europe.

Musona is a genuine talent and has not demonstrated his ability in Chiefs colours. He recently proved that he can play with the big guys at continent level as he cemented his place as Zimbabwe's key player by grabbing both goals as Zimbabwe beat Mali 2-1 at home.
