Musona to seal a R15 million move to Hoffenheim

South Africa's Premier Soccer League glamour club Kaizer Chiefs has finally let the cat out of the bag regarding Knowledge Musona's intended move to Germany. Chiefs Team Manager Bobby Motaung has revealed to the BBC Sport that his club has agreed terms with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim for Musona's impending move.

In the wake of increasing interest from other foreign clubs in Musona's services, Motaung had to come clean and was at pains to explain that Chiefs does not have any intention to put Musona on auction, despite strong interest from Glasgow Celtic of Scotland.

"It's not an auction - we have been engaged with talks with Hoffenheim for a month now and now we have to go to Germany," Motaung told BBC Sport.

Earlier, the Chiefs Team Manager had revealed that Hoffenheim's offer to purchase the talented 21-year old Zimbabwean forward, who can also play as an attacking midfielder, had been accepted by the South African club.

"We've negotiated the offer club to club so now it's more about the player and what he wants," the Chiefs team manager said.

"It's definitely not a trial. We're going there for medicals, contract negotiations and so the boy can see if he is happy to join.

"Then we will make a decision from there,"Bobby added.

Musona has been waiting for his visa to travel to Germany. There are indications that his visa will be available on Monday, after which Motaung will accompany the youngster to go and discuss personal terms and do a medical at the German Bundesliga outfit.

If everything goes according to plan, Musona could be a Hoffenheim player by mid-week next week.

Musona has been in devastating form of late, having scored a double as the Zimbabwe senior national soccer team beat Mali's mega-stars 2-1 in a Group A of the Africa Cup of Nations Cup 2012 qualifying campaign match at Rufaro Stadium in Harare on 5 June.

Even though the star of that show on a Sunday afternoon in Harare was France-based Ovidy Karuru, Musona confirmed his growing reputation of delivering when it matters most.

The player completed the 2010/2011 season as the Golden Boot winner in South Africa's ABSA Premiership with 15 league goals and 20 goals in all competitions.

In winning the top goal scorers' award, Musona managed to beat the hot pursuit mounted by compatriot and his Warriors strike partner Nyasha Mushekwi who scored a hattrick on the last day of the PSL season to finish just a goal ahead.
