Africa"s 2014 World Cup seedings revealed

On Wednesday FIFA revealed the 10 African countries who will be seeded for the 2014 World Cup qualifying groups.

Africa's top 10 ranked nations per the latest Fifa rankings revealed on Wednesday are in order of rankings, Ivory Coast (1st), Egypt (2nd), Ghana(3rd), Burkina Faso (4th), Nigeria (5th), Senegal (6th), South Africa (7th), Cameroon (8th), Algeria (9th), Tunisia (10th). The nations form Port 1.

Port 2 will consist of nations ranked 11-20, Gabon, Libya, Morocco, Guinea, Botswana, Malawi, Zambia, Uganda, Mali, Cape Verde Islands.

In Port 3 are the following countries who in the category of 21-28 rankings in Africa;  Benin, Zimbabwe, Central African Republic, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Niger, Angola, The Gambia plus two first round pairings

Port 4 will be made up of nations who will qualaify from Port 5 and Port 6, made up of nations ranking 29-40 and 41-50 respectively, who will have to play each other in the first round.

The teams in these two ports will be paired against each other and play two legged matches, with the winner qualifying for second round, that is, the 10 groups made up of nations in Ports 1-3.

In the Second round, nations will be drawn into 10 Groups of tea nations each, and only one team will qualaify fopr the final elimination round, to be played on two legs. The remaining five winners will then represent Africa at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The draw for the 2014 World Cup will be made in Brazil on Saturday.
