Gone! Lost to South African football, Musona completed his move to Germany on Wednesday

Kaizer Chiefs have announced during an arranged Press Conference that Knowledge Musona's move to German Bundesliga side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim was completed on Wednesday.

Musona's planned move to Germany had dominated news headlines in South Africa, Zimbabwe and the rest of the continent, and even in Europe, with Hoffenheim and Scottish giants Glasgow Celtic joining the race for the Zimbabwean's signature.

Hoffenheim Sporting Director Ernst Tanner arrived in South Africa on Tuesday, and immediately engaged in talks with Chiefs at Naturena as they two parties sought to iron out any outstanding matters, and the deal was struck before midday Wednesday.

Musona had travelled to Germany in what has been described erroneously so, as a trial stint, and impressed the Germans in a training match in which he scored two goals and hit the woodwork once.

Infact, Musona had not gone to Germany for trials, but just for medicals and and to see if he was happy with the facilities at the Germany club, and he was impressed by what he saw.

Bobby Motaung, the Chiefs Team Manager confiremd that contrary to media speculation that the move will be a loan deal to Chiefs, Musona will be joining the Germany team.

“It is not a loan. It is a fully signed contract of five years. It is confirmed and we will miss him at Kaizer Chiefs.

"We want to wish him all the best … we give him all our blessings. Musona is going as soon as he gets his Visa,” Motaung says.

The Germnay club's Sporting Director confirmed that Hoffenheim team were impressed by what they saw during the brief time the Zimbabwean senior national team star spent with the team in Austria.

“What we have seen is astonishing,” Tanner said, adding that he believes that Musona will be a success story in Europe. will bring you details of the deal later on. What we can confirm though is that the deal is not less than the reported R16 million.
