Pasuwa guides Dynamos to an emphatic win

At last Dynamos and CAPS could afford smiles following weekend wins over opponents

New Dynamos coach Calisto Pasuwa opened his account as coach of the country's biggest club Dynamos with a thorough 4-1 victory over Shooting Stars on Sunday at Rufaro stadium.

The margin though, was flattering given Shooting Stars' dominance of he Harare giants at some stages of the game.

Pasuwa, who only took over last week, saw his side falling behind a James Chitereki strike in the 20th minute after former DeMbare midfielder Eddie Mashiri laid a clean pass for him.

Returning striker Cuthbert Malajila announced his arrival on the domestic scene with Dynamos' equaliser after 26 miutes. Overlapping right back Thomas Magorimbo crossed for the Club Africain owned Malajila to nod home.

From the break, Shooting Stars pressed DeMbare, but wasted every chance they fashioned out, and there was always fear from their technical bench that the team would be punished for their wastefulness.

Punished they were in the 69th minute, when a penalty was awarded against Stars after Tofirei Sambo handled in the box after retreating to assist the defence and Rodrick Mutuma converted the kick, to give Dynamos a 2-1 lead.

Malajila turned provider in the 86th minute, allowing substitute Murape Murape to stab home DeMbare's third goal, before Malajila once again provided a great pass to allow Magorimbo to cap a fine afternoon with a goal.

Meanwhile, FC Platinum laboured to a 0-0 draw against a reviving Zimbabwe Saints now under former Warriors rock-solid defender Ephraim Chawanda at White City Stadium on Sunday.

CAPS United at last knew how to win a match, when new coach Lloyd Chitembwe guided the Greem Machine to their first win in many months, following their 2-0 victory over bottom side Kiglon.
