UGANDA:Williamson names lineup for DR. Congo camp

Uganda Cranes coach Bobby Williamson yesterday named his lineup a head of  the crucial Nations Cup qualifier away in Angola next month.

Only 18 of the 22-man team will, however, travel  to Democratic Republic of Congo, according to Cranes media manager Katende Malibu.

The squad will fly out to Luanda on September 2 in time for the match on the weekend of 3-4 September. Bobby was reserved when asked why he opted for a camp in Congo, but it is thought that he wants to shield the team from the prying eyes.

"To get away from you," he joked.

Skipper Ibrahim Sekagya makes a return after missing the 2-0 victory over Guinea Bissau at Namboole in June through suspension. TZ Mazembe midfielder Patrick Ochan and Bunnamwaya’s Mike Mutyaba also make the provisional squad.

Uganda tops Group J with 10 points, three ahead of next opponents Angola, from whom they need a point to qualify for the 2012 Nations Cup in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
