Tanzania's Simba drop Cranes' defender Walulya

Uganda Cranes defender Derrick Walulya’s short stint as a semi-professional has come to a sudden halt. The former URA star has been dropped by his current employers Simba SC of Tanzania.

Walulya joined his former coach Moses Basena at the Tanzanian club in June and signed a two-year contract but an injury during the Cecafa tournament made him excess to requirements.

Simba chairman Ismail Aden Rage confirmed the development on the club’s website reasoning that two foreign players had been dropped as the club seeks to remain with the obligatory five as provided for by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) regulations.

"Simba have decided to drop Ugandan centre back Derrick Walulya and Kenyan keeper Willis Ochieng for different reasons. The duo’s presence had swelled the number of foreign players in the club to seven," said Rage.
