CAPS beat Highlanders at last!

Lloyd Chitembwe enjoyed a second victory at CAPS after beating Bosso 3-1 on Sunday

CAPS United coach Lloyd Chitembwe celebrated his second win in three matches in charge when he guided his troops to 3-1 demolition of a battling Highlanders in Catsle Lager Premier Soccer League match at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Makepekepe had lost the last three matches against Highlanders and the CAPS Executive and the technical team must have been anxious to stop the trend. And they stopped it in style at the giant stadium on Sunday.

Bosso started the match by dictating pace, and it was not surprising when Graham Ncube gave them the lad only three minutes into the match. The CAPS defence struggled earlier on with the twin central defence of Nyasha Mukumbi and David Sengu failing to click.

The Green Machine needed a response, and Ashley Rambanepasi gave them that just a minutes before half time, taking full advantage of Ariel Sibanda's error to stab home, when the Zimbabwe Under 23 keeper allowed an Evans Gwekwerere cross to slip through his legs.

Pride Tafirenyika gave CAPS the lead in the 69th minute, before Gwekwerere made sure of the victory with a 74th minute strike.

The victory over Bosso was such a morale boosting win following CAPS' loss away at Hwange. The win saw CAPS move to number 10 on the log with 28 points from 22 games.

Highlanders remain on 34 points and on position four on the log.
