Dynamos tie points with leading pack on PSL log

Mukamba scored a brace as Dynamos beat Gunners 3-1 at Lafarge Stadium on Sunday

Dynamos made a leap to 42 points following an emphatic 3-1 victory over in-form Gunners FC coached by former son Moses Chunga at Lafarge Stadium in a Premier Soccer League match on Sunday.

Following draws by the leading pack of FC Platinum and Motor Action over the weekends Dynamos moved to 42 points, and elvel with the two log leaders.

Brilliant youngster Denver Mukamba scored a brace, while risisng star, striker Rodrick Mutuma added a third in btween Mukamba's goals.

Mukamba got Dynamos' first goal in the 15th and 75th minutes, while Mutuma scored in the 49th minute to give DeMbare a much needed victory to keep with the log leaders.

Motor Action were held to a 0-0 draw away at Zimbabwe Saints in a match played in Bulawayo on Sunday. A day earlier, FC Platinum had only managed a 1-1 draw against other title contenders Chicken Inn at Luveve Stadium to leave both teams at 42 points.

Dynamos's caretaker coach Calisto Pasuwa's assumption of the hottest coaching seat in the land, coincided with the revival of DeMbare, who have now been transformed from midtable fighters to real title contenders.

Whats a turn around of fortunes. Gunners, have been on a revival of their own, which has now been halted by DeMbare's title charge.

Dynamos choose to be cautious with respect to their title chances.

“We can’t be talking about the title as yet, we are taking it step by step and will try to pick up as many points as we can. Who knows, we might get there.

“The guys have been playing so well and working hard at training and it’s paying dividends,” stated Dynamos assistant coach Tonderayi Ndiraya.

Moses Chunga was naturally unhappy with the loss and was not convinced that the result reflected the true picture of what transpired on the field of play.

“People might look at the result and think we were outclassed. No. I think we were not outclassed but we were our own worst enemies.

The game did not reflect the true picture of the match. We gave away soft goals, especially the second one,” said Chunga.

It is difficult to see Dynamos slipping up after catching up with FC Platinum and the Mighty Bulls on the log.

The revival of CAPS United will also see the Castle Lager PSL becoming very competitive towards the end of the season.
