Rajevac shortlisted for Egypt job

Former Ghana coach lined up as a possible coach of Egypt

Ghana's 2010 World Cup coach Milovan Rajevac has been added to the growing shortlist of coaches ear-marked to replace Hassan Shehata who resigned as Egypt's coach after presiding over a failed attempt to defend the 2010 title at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations finals to be co-hosted by Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.

Rajevac, affectionately known as Milo by the legions of fans of his former paymasters Ghana, recently lost his job as Qatar national soccer coach.

Milo, who shocked the world by quitting Ghana to pursue club football coaching in the oil-rich Saudi Arabia before clinching the Qatari job, joins a list of aspiring candidates for the hottest coaching job on the continent.

The shortlist includes former USA coach Bob Bradley, Milo's compatriot, Serbian Zoran Zamelokovic and Francisco Maturana of Colombia.

The Egypt Football Association board will meet on Wednesday to finalise on who takes over the vacant post.

Meanwhile,  Olympic coach Hani Ramzy is in an acting position and was in charge when Egypt lost 1-2 to Sierra Leone away in Free Town over the weekend. Ramzy is expected to complete the Afcon qualifiers with a home tie against qualification aspirants Niger in October.
