Zimbabwe"s rising golden star, the man who makes things happen for Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe senior national soccer team, dubbed the Warriors, have received timely boost with news that French club US Boulogne's medical team has cleared talisman Ovidy Karuru to feature for his country in a decisive final Group A match against Cape Verde in Praia on Saturday.

Karuru, man of the match for Zimbabwe in their 2-1 and 3-0 victories over Mali and Liberia in the Afcon qualifiers recently in Harare, has been racing against time to be fit for the crucial qualifier in Praia. The France-based midfielder has been back in trianing for the past week

The Warriors need nothing short of the maximum three points away from home to give them a chance to qualify for the 2012 finals in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon in January.

The contribution of Karuru, alongside the returning duo of first choice twin strikers Nyasha Mushekwi and German Bundesliga club Hoffenheim striker Knowledge Musona , will be crucial for the Warriors against the islanders this weekend.

Karuru has been dying to represent his country in the crucial qualifier and had put his faith to use, believing the Almighty God, Jehovah Rapha the Healer will come through for him and help him to help his nation qualify for the finals, and his prayer has been answered.

Ovidy believes, even amidst the cloud of match-fixing dogging the Liberia/Mali tie, that hosts will not do Mali any favours.

"Mali will not beat Liberia. The best they can get there is a draw," declares the man of faith Karuru.

Well, Zimbabweans will be hoping that Karuru is right, and their beleoved Warriors will celebrate a qualification for only their third appearance at the continental finals.
