Malajila on second trial at Maritzburg

Two Dynamos strikers who are on the wanted lists of SA clubs, Malajila and Mutuma

Dynamos and Warriors striker Cuthbert Malajila jetted off to Pieter Maritzburg for his second trial with Maritzburg United in two years in a bid to win a contract with an ABSA Premiership side in South Africa.

Malajila helped Dynamos, a giant in CAF Champions League, to win a title in Zimbabwe, which has given them yet another dance with Africa's top teams.

The former Tunisian  club Club Africain striker flew straight to KZN from Gaborone where he featured in a 0-0 international friendly between Zimbabwe and Botswana on Saturday.

Maritzburg are in serious need for an experienced striker after a dip in form saw them lose their place as one of the title contenders this season following a great start to the season . All that changed with a 5-0 mauling at the hands of another unbeaten side at the time, Supersport. Then the downward spiral came.

Malajila is an experienced striker whose ability is in no doubt. He will prove to be a good signing for the KZN-based side should he make the grade.

For Dynamos losing Malajila will be a blow to their CAF Champions League dreams and hopes, but the team will have to soldier on without him or find able replacements.

We do not know what will become of the trials, but we wait to be guided by the outcome. If they want him, then we will negotiate.
"It will be a great loss to us because we have registered him for the [CAF] Champions League. However, this is an opportunity that has come and we will see how the trials will go," Dynamos chairman Kenny Mubaiwa told The Herald.

Given that another hot Dynamos striker is on the shopping list of Ajax Cape Town who have invited him for trials in the mother city, the Harare giants are likely to suffer damaing losses to their Chamions League squad.

They have already lost Archieford Gutu who was signed last year by Kalmar FF of Sweden topflight football.
