Another of the Ayew generation of stars: Jordan emerges!

Jordan Ayew making waves in France in Marseille"s preseason matches

Ghanaian legend Abedi Pele Ayew received world media attention during the recent World Cup in South Africa following the exploits of his son Andre Ayew, who was one of the stars of the global showpiece. Now, there is another of the Ayew brothers who is about to make it big in France. His name is Jordan Ayew!

Jordan is the youngest of the Ayew brothers who have been making their father Abedi Pele proud.

Young Jordan, who comes after 'Dede' (Andre) has risen through the ranks at Olympique Marseille in France.

The junior Ayew graduated to the senior team last season and made four appearances towards the end of the season. He even scored a goal last season as Marseille won the French title after 18 years. His coach Didier Deschamps is full of praise for his young talent.

The former French international who captained France to world cup glory in 1998 on home soil, spoke highly of the youngster recently on the club's website.

"It's a pleasant surprise. He was already with us last year. He made all the preparations with us, he is in good condition, and he is an interesting player. It formed at the club and he appreciates the presence of his brother (Andre). He has the quality of work and with that he can give us a helping hand during the season," Deschamps told the club's website.

Jordan has been looking very sharp during the pre-season training and Deschamps will certainly give him ore game time during the 2010/2011 season than he did last season.

The 18 year-old boy was in irressistible form for Marseille during a pre-season friendly match against Spanish side Valencia last Sunday, which the French side won 1-0.

Jordan had earlier scored in a friendly match against Vannes on 9 July which Marseille won 2-0. If the Ayew prodigy continues with the fine form he is showing, it may be just a matter of time before he knocks on the doors of the senior national team, the Black Stars of Ghana.

Should Jordan get a call from Miroslav Rajevac, that will bring the number of Ayew brothers in the senior team to three. The eldest of the Ayew brothers is 22 year-old Ibrahim, who plays for Zamalek in Egypt.  Andre will turn 21 in December, while Jordan will turn 19 in September.
