Billiat hugely impresses at Amsterdam,reports

Will these two (Billiat left, Serero right) be re-united at Ajax Amsterdam next season?

Ajax Cape Town attacking midfielder Khama Billiat reportedly made a huge impression on the Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam's technical team during his week long training with the Holland/Netherlands parent club, which ended this week. Billiat is back in Cape Town.

The Zimbabwean midfielder was invited by the Amsterdam club to join the rest of the first team during the January month, and according to the Urban Warriors' CEO George Comitis, the 21-year old Warriors midfielder had a heavenly experience in the Holland.

"Khama did very well and now we are waiting for the full report. Ajax Amsterdam will give George [Maluleka] both the reports, including one for George and he will give it to us when he comes back on Sunday. I spoke to Khama and he says he had a hell of an experience," Comitis revealed on Friday.

The parent club to the Cape Town-based Ajax has a tradition of signing the best player from the South African club each year.

Benni McCarthy benefited from this deal, started off his career in Holland before moving to Spain, Portugal and then England before returning home.

Likewise, Steven Pienaar cut his European experience teeth at the Amsterdam club before finding his way to Borrussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, from where he moved to Everton in England before his big bucks move to Tottenham Hotspurs.

Thulani Serero is the latest of Ajax Amsterdam's acquisitions from the Cape Town-based club. Serero trained in Holland in January last season, before returning to that country in the summer when his move to Holland was finalised.

According to the reports emanating from the Cape Town club, it appears like Billiat is set to follow in the footsteps of his close friend Serero.

"They (Ajax Amsterdam) will tell us what Khama needs to improve [on] and he would possibly return to Holland in June, but as of now we are waiting for the full report," Comitis said.

Billiat himself believes that his time to prove that he can compete at a bigger European stage has arrived. Before he left for Holland, he reasoned that the presence of Serero at the Amsterdam club should be a plus for him in his attempt to win a European contract.

"Its the right time for me to go there because Im playing well now and I deserve a chance to prove what Im capable of doing on a bigger stage, Billiat told early in January.

To make a good impression I need to stay focused and having Thulani on that side will help me because we have played together before and we understand each other.
