Zimbabwe international Noel Kaseke's European club, Cpriot Champions Omonia Nicosia were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night by Red Bull Salzburg of Austria.

Salzburg, who beat Omonia 4-1 on Wednesday, progressed to the next round of the Champions League on 5-2 aggregate, after holding the Cypriot champions to 1-1 draw away in Cyprus on the 27th July.

The Austrian champions scored through Svento who opened the scoring in the 21st minute. Salzburg scored further goals through a brace by Boghossian in the 26th and 58th minutes, and another brace from Schiemer who found goals in the 37th and 40th minutes.

Kaseke played for the first 68 minutes in Wednesday's match, and was replaced by Avraam, the same player who replaced him in the 65th minute on the 27th July in a drawn match against the same opponents during the first leg of the Champions League third round qualifying match.

The former Highlanders defender had earlier played full matches when helping his club qualify for the Champions League 3rd round during Omonia's aggregate 5-0 demolition of FK Renova of Macedonia in the 2nd round. Omonia had beaten Renova 3-0 at home on the 13th July, and followed this up with a 2-0 victory away in Macedonia on the 20th July.

Former Portsmouth star Lomana Lua Lua from the DRC is now playing for Omonia alongside his fellow African brother Kaseke. Lua Lua even scored an equalising goal in his team's drawn first leg encounter with Salzburg in Cyprus.

That Kaseke has been getting game time early into the European season will come as good news to the Warriors technical team led by Norman Mapeza. The Warriors are bracing themselves up for the opening 2012 AFCON qualifying match against the Lone Star of Liberia in away in Monrovia during the weekend of 3-5 September.
