Swallows of Burundi ready for battle against Zimbabwe
The atmosphere is in the capital Bujumbura remains rather quiet despite the impending 2013 Orange Africa Cup of Nations match this Wednesday against visiting Zimbabwe. The Burundi foreign based players (eleven) of them are in town and they visitors too have arrived.
Burundi team has been steeping up preparations for the match against Zimbabwe, to be played on February 29, 2012 at Prince Louis Rwagasore stadium in Bujumbura with kick off at 15.00 hrs local time.

The home team has been on an intensive two week preparation camp and eleven foreign based players have been summoned by the Belgian coach, Adel Amrouche. Among them, six are playing  in the championship in Rwanda and three European leagues, and that  is team captain Valery Nahayo (Gent, Belgium), Saido Ntibazonkiza (Karkovia, Poland) and goalkeeper Omar Wage (Randaberg, Norway D2).

Masumbuko Kalala who plays for Club Vasco da Gama in South Africa is also present. The only absentee among the foreign based players is the injured Dugarry Ndabashinze who plays for Belgian side Genk.

The talk in town among some is that despite the presence of all these players, Burundi may not get the positive result from the game on Wednesday. It is very much a divide view with some however saying Burundi will be victorious.

Others are pointing to the win bin the win by local side Lydia Ludic Burundi over  Atletico Semu of Equatorial Guinea (3-0) in the Orange CAF Confederation Cup as evidence that Burundi football can deliver but others are saying the opposition here is  Zimbabwe which is perhaps tougher than Equatorial Guinea.
The capital Bujumbura is rather quiet as the match draws close and there is hardly much talk about it and some people were not even aware of this match on Wednesday perhaps because they have been accustomed to matches being played during the weekend.

The Swallows of Burundi are however hopeful that the home crowd will flock to the stadium and help cheers the team to victory over the Warriors.
